PRP microneedling FAQs
How does PRP microneedling work?
PRP microneedling works by combining two regenerative therapies: microneedling and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Microneedling creates micro-injuries in the skin, triggering a natural wound-healing response that stimulates collagen and elastin production. PRP, derived from your blood, is rich in growth factors that accelerate tissue repair and cellular renewal. When applied during microneedling, PRP penetrates the microchannels, enhancing the skin’s healing process. This synergy improves overall texture, tone, and firmness.
Who should not get PRP microneedling?
People with active acne, skin infections, blood disorders, or certain autoimmune conditions may not be good candidates. A consultation is required to ensure it’s right for you.
Is PRP microneedling painful?
You may feel mild discomfort during the treatment, but we apply a topical numbing cream beforehand to ensure the procedure is well-tolerated.
Can I return to work after my treatment?
Yes, most people return to normal activities within a day. You may experience some redness and sensitivity, similar to a sunburn, for 24 to 48 hours.
How soon will I see the results?
Initial improvements are usually visible within one to two weeks, with continued improvement over several months as collagen production increases.
How many treatments will I need?
Most patients benefit from a series of 3 treatments spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart. For more advanced concerns, such as deep acne scars, additional sessions may be recommended.
